Macabre Mallet: Part Eight : 1990 – 1994

One of the noticeable differences between the late eighties and early nineties was that it was no longer the eighties.

While many were adjusting to the dawn of a new decade, Macabre Mallet made its mark by releasing a compelling lineup of movies that seamlessly combined its traditional horror roots with a deeper psychological dimension.

This decade introduced two rising stars: Jocelyn Fitzroy and Nia Palmer. Fitzroy, initially known as a child actress in television commercials. In one commercial she comforted a grieving woman with the line, “Don’t worry, mummy. Grandad had funeral cover through Albion Park Insurance”.

Fitzroy had already made her debut with Macabre Mallet, portraying a precocious, screaming teen in ‘EVIL DAYDREAM.’ Now, in her early twenties, she was poised for leading roles.

Nia Palmer, much like her predecessor Simone Wellington, started as a model but had some acting experience, including a few appearances in popular BBC drama’Grange Hill.’ Her most memorable line was “Quick! It’s Mrs. McCluskey.””

EVIL CLOWN [1990]

For its 35th anniversary, having explored evil things like houses, mountain and eggs, Macabre Mallet explored the most evil things in existence- Clowns.

There’s a travelling circus in town but Audrey doesn’t want to go because she’s scared of clowns. Her friends, rather arrogantly, convince her to attend assuring her that clowns are not evil.

However, it turns out her friends are wrong and clowns are in fact evil as she is relentlessly pursued by an evil killer clown.

THE SILENT ALPACA [1991]

In the sprawling wilderness of Epping Forest a gruesome murder has taken place.

The only witness to this heinous crime is a stray alpaca who cannot say who did it on the account he’s an alpaca.

Yet as baffled Detectives investigates further they suspect the alpaca may not be so innocent. Indeed, the alpaca could very well be the reincarnation of a serial killer who died 30 years ago.

This movie features an appearance by legendary Macabre Mallet actor, Vincent Bannister in what would be his last role before his death.

CREEPY MAN [1992]

Legend has it whoever sings the Creepy Man song will end up dead.

Fortunately many have heeded the warning passed down by their elders and there had been no Creepy Man related deaths for quite some time.

That is, until, music producer Chad Venereal convinces up and coming singer, Sapphire Steele (Nia Palmer) to record it for her debut album.

Will she be able to make her first appearance on Top Of The Pops or will the Creepy Man get her?

MASSACRE BY MOONLIGHT [1993]

In the quiet village of Ungleshank an evil stirs. For whenever there is a full moon a murder occurs on the normally tranquil river bank.

Ludwig Von Massacremall suggests it might be aliens.

WOOF [1994]

It’s a familiar story. Boy meets the girl of his dreams but girl turns out to be a werewolf who likes to eat boys.

Can he tame her or will he end up as her next meal?
