Macabre Mallet : Part Thirteen : 2015 – 2019

In the early years of the decade, from 2010 to 2014, the Macabre Mallet movies set the stage for what the latter part of the era had in store.

2015 marked a significant milestone for Macabre Mallet, as it celebrated the 60th anniversary of the very first installment, “SLAUGHTERPASS.” This groundbreaking film introduced the world to the inaugural Macabre Maiden, Imogen Hartley, leaving an indelible mark on audiences.

Tragically, a few years after this joyous commemoration, Imogen Hartley passed away in 2019 at the age of 84, leaving a void in the hearts of fans. Moreover, shortly after the anniversary celebrations in 2015, another of the original Macabre Maidens, Lilith Ashcroft, departed at the age of 82.

Poppy Sullivan

Despite the melancholic losses of these two legends of the horror genre, the future of Macabre Mallet remained promising. The current crop of stars, including Talulah Drummond, Poppy Sullivan, and Aisha Douglas, continued to captivate audiences with their devilishly brilliant performances. The legacy of Macabre Mallet endures, as the new generation of talent keeps the dark magic alive.

Still from THAT STALKERY THING

Is it an alien? Is it a ghoul or a ghost? Or is it Bob Stalker who lives at Stalker House, Creepy Lane?

Released on the 60th anniversary of the very first Macabre Mallet movie, this featured cameo appearances from previous stars including Imogen Hartley & Lilith Ashcroft.

DO NOT LET IT SPEAK [2016]

Soon the residents of the normally quiet town of Cleavenage find themselves under the control of Ayai, committing unspeakable acts.

The only way to stop it is not to let it speak!

Everything is happy in the tranquil village of Upper Bottomeley End. Until one morning all the children wake up filled with murderous rage.

Many explanations for this deadly phenomenon are offered – demonic possession, aliens, hormones, finally having enough of adults patronising them.

Whatever the cause can it be resolved before what would be a very problematic Parent/Teacher evening at the local school?

SHUT THE F*CK UP [2018]

Yet she finds herself surrounded by men who just talk down to her and when they start talking they don’t seem to stop . Until one day Trudie can’t take it anymore and takes drastic action.

This movie is notable because Sullivan does not have any spoken lines.

Described by one critic as ‘Woke Feminist Trash’. It remains one of the highest grossing Macabre Mallet movies of all time.

MIDWINTERAHHH [2019]

A remake of an earlier Macabre Mallet classic, WHAT THE HELL HAS HAPPENED TO BARBARA? released in 1962.

This time it is set at the office Christmas party where Human Resources manager, Barbara is infected by an alien parasite and lets her colleagues know what she really thinks of her Secret Santa present.

Still from MIDWINTERAHH!

This was the only Macabre Mallet movie not to be released in October. Its December release has prompted much debate as to whether it is in fact a Christmas Movie.

Before the start of the movie a montage was shown to commemorate the passing of Imogen Hartley.
